Re: Were 10-6 49ers of '91 as good as record indicated?
I saw them as an unlucky playoff team that was left out in the cold and better than their record indicated The last 6 games of the season they were second only to the Redskins as the best team in football They were not unlucky- they got what they deserved. they had a lot of red flags that get overs...

Re: NFL "what-if" scenarios thread
What if the Bears don’t win 1977’s Slush Bowl and miss the playoffs? Washington instead would have played LA in the Mud Bowl I actually can see the Redskins pulling off the upset that year in LA before falling in Dallas. I don’t. LA’s Viking jinx was real and they had already beaten Washington in t...

What if the Bills got the #1 seed instead of Cincinnati?
How differently could a defense driven pre-no Huddle Bills fare in SB 23 against a SF team that at one point started 6-5?

Worst draft classes for a team
We all know about perhaps the best draft class ever- 1974 Steelers getting Swann/Stallworth/Lambert/Webster.
But what were opposites? Teams that basically had a draft class that was anything but the stuff of greatness.

1989
They played a much tougher schedule in a more rugged NFC.
The 84 49ers basically only faced 2 decent QB's, Theismann and Simms, until SB 19.

Re: Were 10-6 49ers of '91 as good as record indicated?
I don't think the 49ers were as good as their record in 91, but that was true in several other 90's seasons as well, like 1990, 92, 93, 94, 96, 97, and 98. Those teams have more flaws than people give them credit for because people were brainwashed by the 9er-loving media that their players were th...

Michael Strahan- Did he only make the HOF because of his storybook ending?
IMHO, He was the Joe Namath of defensive players- only made the HOF because he played in NY, had one gaudy outlier of a season (Namath's 4000 yard season, Strahan's sack record) and had an all time SB upset. If they lose to DAL/GB or even that SB and he retires without a ring.... are we sure he's in...

2002 Bucs
No more GB/CHI cold weather trips, new division, got to play ATL/CAR/NO, won SB in year 1 of said realignment

Re: 1994 Steelers vs. 1997 Steelers
The 94 Steelers were better. The 1997 team shouldn't have even made the playoffs. They had a few games they should have lost, like Washington, @Baltimore, @Arizona, and @NE. Den and KC were the two best teams in the AFC that year, and that was the defacto AFC Title Game. Oh please. 97 KC was a frau...
