I saw OJ go over 1,000 yards at the halfway point of the 1973 season, which meant halfway to his total of 2,000 yards that year. It was the first Monday Night game ever at Rich Stadium in Orchard Park.

I think I'd add Pigskin , as mentioned earlier, and TOTAL FOOTBALL . While TF may have outlived its usefulness, I found it essential when I was just entering into the world of football research. I like Madden but I think he's emblematic of the league's penchant for hype. The growing overhype the league and it's personalities has experienced since the merger has turned some rather pedestrian characters into folk heroes.
