Re: Class of 2020 will be announced next Wed
Sprinkle and Covert are disgracefully bad choices. Carmichael and Hill are maybe okay, but not at the expense of several other guys who probably won't make it now. Slater and Sabol they at least got right. Yeah, this sucks rocks. Got a bad feeling none of Wistert, Speedie, Dilweg, Lewellen, or Emers...

Re: Class of 2020 will be announced next Wed
Lets say some of my predictions are right, and there is no sure way to know, we,I guess, have to accept that voters can ignore the historical record of a player's "resume" for lack of a better word and have to allow the "testimony" thing take a bigger role With Carmichael, we kn...

Re: Luke Kuechly hangs em up
8 years, like Willis Bobby Wagner has 8, if he retired----would all 3 be HOF? Luke Kuechly (6/7/10s?) has an honors profile almost exactly like Patrick Willis (5/7/10s?). I think both get in the HoF after a little bit of a wait. Bobby Wagner (5/6/10s?) is almost a carbon copy of these two at presen...

My guess is yes, especially after seeing Bill Cowher get in. Dick LeBeau is on the committee, and I’d bet he had his share of influence.sluggermatt15 wrote:I'm interested to see if Donnie Shell will be inducted as part of the Centennial Class.

Re: Bill Cohwer one of 2 coaches in Centenial Class
Poster Brian Wolf put this up over at the Zoneblitz site regarding Buddy Parker, and it may well explain why he hasn't been enshrined: "Lot of speculation about Parker. He was a great coach, but also a mean drunk who would challenge or even attack players after bad losses. He was also considere...

Re: Bill Cohwer one of 2 coaches in Centenial Class
Seeing a lot of Flores supporter voicing their views on him not being one of the two. Even veiled (and no so much) accusations of racial bias. It's not new, see it every year, but seems more bitter this time, like he was a lock or something That’s not surprising to me at all. Not every Raider fan i...

Re: Bill Cohwer one of 2 coaches in Centenial Class
My initial reaction upon hearing Bill Cowher was one of the two coaches selected was surprise. He doesn’t have the win totals of Reeves or Holmgren, he has only one title, and he has never been a semifinalist, much less a finalist, before. However, he has by far the best W-L percentage of any of the...

So sorry to hear about this! Good guy, from what I could tell from his posts, very knowledgeable especially about place kickers. Good citizen in these forums.

Re: Who is your team?
Yup, it was 1986. My bad. Then again, maybe it's not so surprising I've forgotten -- wish fulfillment, maybe.sheajets wrote:1986 Red Sox you mean?
Mets used up a lot of magic that year, 1973, and 1969. And we've been paying back our debt in a lot of heartbreak since. But at least I have 1986.
