Re: How will Belichick's final chapter be written?

My opinion: no way he retires if they get Caleb. Even if they don’t, I think they'll be in position to draft Maye or Penix at least, so he'll more than likely try to ride it out with one last QB. If that doesn't work, he'll probably still get the wins record after 3 or so years and be ready to walk...

Re: Notable 5-0 starts (then losing sixth game)

Jets actually started 5-0 in 2004 before losing a tough 13-7 game in New England to the undefeated Patriots who improved to 6-0.

Patriots would lose to Pittsburgh the following week

How will Belichick's final chapter be written?

It's kind of funny watching this and hearing younger football fans commenting how this is the first time in their lives they can remember the Patriots being bad. It's almost hard for them to compute. For the rest of us of course the Patriots of up until 1992 were not known as one of the NFL's premie...

And we can finally put this one to bed

The New York Jets have beaten the Philadelphia Eagles.

I have my closure for the Eric Allen game.

Re: 2023 season, Week 1

as it usually is in the Saleh era. All he does is talk and the team continuously comes out unprepared and underachieves. I think you're being a little hard on Robert Saleh. It's hard to win consistently in the N.F.L. w/o solid QB play. Just ask Bill Belichick. Maybe I am, but I don't think he shoul...

Favorite football scenes in non football movies

I don't mean movies that use footage from actual games, rather scenes that try to recreate something from a pro or college game or practice. I find being a football nerd I tend to pick these apart rather ferociously and missed opportunities and inaccuracies irritate me far more than I should :D I re...

Re: 2023 Obituaries

Awful. Strangely I was just watching that old NFL films clip where Francis talks about taking some Raider player on a flight in his private plane and then (jokingly) kicking the door open and threatening to boot him out.

Re: 2023 season, Week 1

Okay, I'm done. Zach Wilson should not be allowed to play again for the Jets unless in garbage time. He is still at the embarrassment level. He has to make significant improvements to merely be called "bad." Broadway Joe agrees with you 100%: https://sports.yahoo.com/joe-namath-calls-for-...

Re: Florio bent out of shape for fumble/TB rule but silent on Tush Push

I have a hunch it has to do with trying to give every advantage possible to the offense. Stacked up at the 1...push em in. Same reason they allow those absurd sticky gloves (which I make regular one handed catches with when I put them on) That's probably the reason. Same way they now allow the offe...

Re: Worst RBs/WRs with a 1000 yard season?

Another weird one was former Oilers WR Tim Smith. 3rd round pick, barely plays 1980-1982. Then in 1983 picks up 83 receptions for 1,176 and follows that up with 69 catches for 1,141. Has a 46 catch season after and that's pretty much it for his career. Those were some miserable years for Houston.
