Re: Clark Shaughnessy
I love your opinions TAS but Haynes I believe should be in the HOF, much less the HOVG ... we all know that his career took a dive going to Denver and competing with Gilchrest no less. I understand his fumbling issues but one of the most exciting players along with Timmy Brown ...

Re: Dick Vermeil HOF worthy?
The Lions and maybe the 2008 Patriots. The 85 Broncos had a lot of talent as well.

Re: Elbie Nickel - HOVG?
Nickel belongs, though he could be considered the first great pass catching tight end as well, along with Mutscheller. Imagine catching passes for the cut Johnny U or Bobby Layne ?

Simms should already be in this HOVG.
Other than Bavaro, he never had an outstanding skill position player ...

Re: Wesley Walker and Stanley Morgan
I think both of them deserve to be in.
They both could drop passes but ultimate deep threats.

Re: HOVG QBs - 1940s thru 1960s
Definitely Thompson, who I believe deserves HOF consideration. Like Griese, he took his team to three consecutive championship games, utilizing his best running back, while winning too and was one of the first successful T-Formation QBs ... he didnt have an Earl Morrall winning ten straight games fo...

Re: Good riddance
I see what youre saying about 1991, though Buffalo and Denver played an excellent, defensive, AFC Championship game. Too bad the Lions couldnt step it up against the Redskins. After watching the Lions whip the Cowboys, a team that matched the Redskins very well -- I am sure the Redskin players could...

Haha ... yes the Steelers are a good organization, yet only Bradshaw and Big Ben won SBs, so Ben will get in ...
