Re: Better OC, Charlie Weiss or Josh McDaniels?
Weis in my opinion. He developed Brady hands down. McDaniels and BOB just rode his coattails, though McDaniels was better than O Brien. Weis helped develop Testaverde as well, a fundamentally strong coach.

Re: Roethlisberger for the HOF?
Youre right Bob ... Though I prefer winning QBs to spectacular throwers, the gifted passer/athletes will always fascinate voters of any generation. Conerly, Thompson, Plunkett and Simms might never reach the HOF but I will always admire their toughness, grit and ability to blend into the team concep...

Re: Worst player in HOVG? Best player not in?
I understand what Isbell could bring to the table as a thrower and the possibilities of a passing offense. Herber could throw as well but not as good as Cecil. I just believe he didnt play long enough. If he is based on three great seasons, why not other players like Latone, Sims, Andrews, Warren We...

Re: Clark Shaughnessy
Look, we all know that Jim Brown was a great player, especially with his speed and size. I also believe Gilchrist was great as well. More power than speed but a far superior blocker than Brown. I wont say he is better, though Cookie could kick and play linebacker as well but had Paul Brown kept him,...

Re: Bill Fralic - HOVG?
When I watched Fralic, he reminded me of former Cardinal, Bob Young, who was very strong and powerful but didnt get enough accolades. Everytime I watched Young, he manhandled people. Played well against Randy White too ...

Re: Worst player in HOVG? Best player not in?
I was wrong. I am sure there is a player out there who hasnt made the HOVG, thats better than Simms and I have to find him but Simms was who I was thinking of, in terms of a QB.

Great list Matt ...
Though it's tough on Plum and Meredith. They could beat the bad teams but had trouble with the good teams and Meredith, like Danny White, later for the Cowboys, was snakebit. I sure like that Meredith throwback jersey from Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, though.

Re: Roethlisberger for the HOF?
Thanks John ... Eli may get in but he regressed so bad, it should take him awhile. If he gets in, the noise for Plunkett and Simms will get considerably louder, much less Tommy Thompson who won two out of three championships. I believe Charlie Conerly should also be in the HOF but thats a post for a...

Re: Roethlisberger for the HOF?
Haha ... I will admit, I love stirring the pot and love good debate. I wasnt trying to downplay Griese from the other post as much as boost an underrated Thompson, who played with one eye ! I think Griese was as graceful and smooth a QB, whether passing, scrambling or doing ball handling, as I have ...

Re: Good riddance
I felt the Titans were better than their 99 team in 2000 but the Ravens defense peaked at the right time. A defensive slugfest playoff game, that we will probably never see again, with todays basketball scores. The Ravens got lucky that Siragusa belly flopped onto a Gannon injury that enabled them t...
