Re: '74 Birmingham Americans VS '84 Philadelphia Stars

Really good observatlons there Zero26! As much as I wish the USFL would've survived, the ownership group made some bad decisions, especially in expansion which wasn't needed. When teams started merging I knew they were in trouble. Wasn't it Blitz/Wranglers and Panthers/Invaders? They could have had...

Re: '74 Birmingham Americans VS '84 Philadelphia Stars

Stars. The USFL had better talent probably maybe better than the AFL in year 2. Even if that weren't the case the Stars were more dominant in the USFL, Stars were one possession away from joining the AAFC Browns as the only team since before championship games started to three peat even if they fell...

Re: Aaron Donald

I find the first ballot thing to be silly. While we know everyone in the Hall at a given position isn't equal not all ballots are equal and when someone gets in it is circumstantial. The current system is based on the timing of other players retirements and speed of induction can never be fully base...

On one hand they certainly do deserve financial compensation on the other hand you don't want them killing the r...

Re: Bengals Fans: HOF Protest Rally

Bengals fans have had enough. Cheap organization, too many losing seasons, bad decades, Mike Brown you say? Nope, not enough Bengals players in the Hall Of Fame ... They plan to rally/protest in July, though I doubt it will do much good. Paul Brown was shrewd enough to get back into the NFL fold by...

Re: NEW USFL

I simply wish that they wouldn't call it the USFL and not have the same team names and logos. Simply make it a "normal"-enough (not XFL-like) NFL-rules spring pro league. Maybe most of the same cities as the USFL (non-NFL cities/markets in-particular), but make it something different. Mor...

Re: AFL Players' HOF Worthiness

I think there's a substantial chance the all decade teams get inducted in the 2060s as some sort of 100 year celebration. Until then I don't think they are going to touch this issue with a 10 foot pole because they'll never really be a right time. I don't think that's the right way to handle this bu...

Re: Congrats to the HOF Class of 2022

There were a lot of deserving finalists and semi finalists, these being the final 5 felt odd. Not that any of these players aren't HOFers neccessarily(I'm not a strong no on any of them). It just felt like the priority was rewarding wait time over putting in the best players. I was happy with the Br...

Re: Drew Bledsoe HOVG

I think he's underrated. I'm not saying he'd be in the HOF if not for Brady but I think he'd have come much closer and is certainly HOVG. Like McNabb he really just needed a little more longevity to make it on career totals and he just didn't get it. Besides Ken Anderson and Isbell is there a better...
