Re: Expansion in the 60's with no AFL

If expansion doesn't come quick enough for some cities' liking, I wonder if Gary Davidson starts the WFL seven to eight years earlier. I think that he was one of the founders of the ABA in 1967.

Expansion in the 60's with no AFL

Let's say that Lamar Hunt gets enough stake in the Cardinals in 1959 to move them to Dallas (and maybe rename them the Texans).

How long do you think it would take for the league to expand?

And, how long do you think that it would take for a new league to form if the NFL doesn't expand fairly soon?

Re: start time of NFL championship games

If the 1968 NFL Title game was at 2:00, then what time did the Jets and Raiders play at Shea? I always assumed that the NFL Title Game that year was a 4:00 start.

And then there is Jacksonville... where oh where will the little Jags go?
If the Rams go to LA, I hope they replace them in St. Louis. Fix two wrongs from the 90's.

Re: NYJ@SD '83, Hou@Rams '81, and other examples

Speaking of 1992, Detroit and Chicago met on opening day in a game that the Bears pulled out at the very end on a Harbaugh to Waddle TD pass. Both teams went on to finish 5-11 that year after going 12-4 and 11-5 the year before.

Re: Are the Oakland Raiders considering a move to San Antoni

But thrusting them into San Antonio in an area that's already chock full of Cowboys and Texans fans is just foolish. They will essentially become what the Hartford Whalers were wedged between the Rangers and Bruins. Here's the thing, though: San Antonio is a bigger city than Jacksonville (which isn...

Re: Past season predictions

Those were some bad predictions.

For one, they had the Jags going to the SB in 1997 and 98? That's crazy. Everyone had Denver going in 1997, and I had KC going in 98.

Secondly, I think that they picked KC to go in 96, not Buffalo, but I could be wrong.

Re: What 90's Cowboys become without Walker trade

Don't know about a Super Bowl, they might just become another Dynasty That Never Was like the Eagles of the era. But With that O-line, which was largely already in place, I think Walker ends up in the Hall of Fame. If Dallas doesn't trade Walker before the 89 trade deadline (due to teams not wantin...

Re: Past season predictions

I can't remember any off the top of my head other than last year was the first time I correctly predicted the Super Bowl matchup before the regular season started. Seahawks over Broncos. For what its worth, that's my pick for this year too. I remember before the 1991 season almost all the pre-seaso...

Re: Is Dickerson trade REALLY to blame for Rams' downfall?

I don't think that it can be blamed. Heck, it could have meant longer success if they would have used their draft picks better. For example, they should have drafted Anthony Miller and Thurman Thomas in the first round in 1988 instead of Gaston Green and Aaron Cox.
