Re: Gradishar, Art Powell, Steve McMichael Senior Committee Nomi
As I understand it the level of competition for Powell's big seasons was part of reason for rejection people here know but visually it's interesting anyway---there is more overlap that maybe younger voters cared to look up. Maybe 1960-62 ... sure, there is some validity to it ... and beyond but if t...

Re: Frankie Albert-The First South Paw Quarterback
Upton Bell, born in 1937, had to be referring to when CS was official with Bears ... not when he was friends with Halas at Univ of Chi and shared ideas on T But still ... would like to know what he means by "new" that was designed circa 1951+ as per the flanker position 2024-02-21_19-44-31...

Re: Gradishar, Art Powell, Steve McMichael Senior Committee Nomi
In terms of Powell the only thing I can think of is that perhaps voters were not familiar with him the first time that he was up as a senior considering he hasn't played since 1968 and maybe after some more research into him he will get the 80% In a few years. Yes, voters outside senior committee m...

I also wouldn't have a problem with considering CFL players in the HOVG, but it doesn't seem to have happened yet (Flutie would obviously be the first to get a look). I also thing there can be a caveat for American rules guys that had a stint in CFL and played well as a part of consideration ... su...

Re: NFL's Most Influential Teams
Of course all this is complicated by the fact that there's very little new under the sun and that we often confuse popularizers with inventors as with Zone Blitz (not LeBeau), The Flex (not Landry), The Shotgun (not Hickey), etc. But I think the influential team would be the one that made the schem...

That is my disappointment as well. With 3, there is room for 1 SS ... but they just don't seem like they will budge.Brian wolf wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 5:40 pm It really wont matter as much, until the super seniors get their due. If the number remains three, it will help mostly deserving eighties players.

Re: Divisional Playoff Weekend
I dont understand the Dolphins. They are letting Fangio walk when the defense is getting better. He will probably go to Philly. Fangio's idea. If he had to stay, if the Dolphins forced some issue, that's not going to work out well. I do think it is odd. His defense had a lot of injuries and has ple...

Re: Rank all Detroit Lions playoff teams, #1 to #18
1934, of course, is better than ’35! 11-3 installment of ’62 (who almost swept the Mighty 13-1 Pack)? Perhaps they and ’34 each better than any of the actual League Champions! Glad you mentioned these ---- 1934 was odd, 10-0 then lost final 3 ... one of best defenses ever (point allowed) and even f...
