Vermeil built the Eagles - with literally nothing in the way of picks. Did not have a 1st rounder until '79. For me getting to the Super Bowl in two different eras 81 and 99 with two different teams speaks volumes.

I love Jones in that he led the Colts to 3 Division Titles in a row. He was also a league MVP. I agree it was short-lived but injuries derailed him. Belichick argued that he was the best pure passer he ever saw. That is good enough for me. I would also have Theismann on the list too.

Dick Vermeil should be a lock. Won division titles with three different teams. Took two down trodden franchises in Philadelphia and St. Louis to the Super Bowl in two different eras. Won the Super Bowl with St. Louis. It is a crime he is not in Canton.

I agree. They did over-evaluate the 1984 team. A bigger mistake may have been bypassing Marino in 1983. Bradshaw was near the end before his injury. However, Marino rumors and a prior history may have turned the Steelers off.

Player Ken Anderson. I think he was a better QB than some of his peers that are in. Coach Dick Vermeil 3 different teams to playoffs, 2 different teams in different eras to Super Bowl. Won a title with the Rams.
