Re: Worst RBs/WRs with a 1000 yard season?

I particularly do not find 1,000 yard seasons to be very impressive. Especially in the 16 and now 17 game seasons. If you do the math, that's between 58 and 63 yards per game. Would you want a player like that on your fantasy football team? Now, if we are talking 1,500 to 2,000 yard seasons, that's...

Re: How will Belichick's final chapter be written?

IMO absolutely Belichick wants 300 career wins and the all-time wins record. If he didn't he would have retired when Brady left. His ego is also so big he can't give up coaching and football. I agree with the posts above. I don't feel Belichick has an unlimited leash. Kraft is an all businessman. He...

Re: Should Ricky Watters be the next RB in Canton?

If you're going to consider Priest Holmes and Ricky Watters, why not think about LeSean McCoy? Versatile back, 6x Pro Bowl, 2x first-team All-Pro, 2x SB champ, 15k career total yards, 6x 1,000+ yard rushing seasons, 89 total touchdowns; dynamic when he was with the Eagles from 2010 to 2014; However,...

Re: Lamar Lundy (1957-69)

I agree about Lundy in that he is not quite HOVG. He was a decent complimentary player though.

Re: 2023 Hall of Very Good Finalists

Elbie Nickel is deserving too and could be considered the first great receiving tight end, though others believe it was Tom Fears who made the Hall... What makes them different from any other end from the 50s? The general consensus seems to be that the 60s starting with Ditka and Mackey is the even...

Re: Billy Cannon

I wrote a biography on Cannon last year. From what I remember when researching him, when he joined the Raiders, head coach John Rauch converted him from a running back to a tight end. Not only because of his pass catching abilities, but he was a very physical player and could block really well.

Re: 2023 Hall of Very Good Finalists

Coy Bacon is a long time coming. Herschel surely ought to get in first ballot. Tasker might, given he was a HOF finalist multiple times. Nice to see Tanks eat another W with Christensen. Didn't Henry Ellard become eligible this year also, or is that next? There's no way no one even nominated him if...

Re: Centers

I was on the fence about Dawson and Mawae in terms of the HOF...I never thought of them as being "great", more like "consistently good". I think with the exception of Wojciechowicz, the HOF did a nice job of getting all the "upper room" centers in Canton. I think Kelce...
