Re: The greatest AFL game ever played?
Interesting story regarding the Heidi game. Joe Namath was seated on a plane preparing for takeoff. A woman passenger asked the flight attendant if Namath was seated in the front and asked if she could introduce herself to him. Receiving two affirmatives, the woman introduced herself to Namath and ...

Re: II Steelers @Cardinals Game That Still Haunts Me
While I was just a kid, I recall that game and the season quite well. Two tie games against the Eagles. The first tie was a result of a mixed extra point that hit an upright later proven to be a bit crooked. There was that terrible Sunday of November 24, hours after Lee Oswald was assassinated, when...

Re: 2022 outlook going into Wk#13's NO@TB MNF matchup
Comeback player of the year or not ... This season could be slipping away for Geno Smith and the Seahawks. Purdy relevant for the Niners, who is the best #13 for SF since Steve Bono went 5-1 in 1991 ... Despite just two games, you already get the sense that Jimmy G has already lost his job when he ...

Re: 3 QBs? On a winning team?
The 1974 Pittsburgh Steelers used three quarterbacks, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Gilliam, and Terry Hanratty during the regular season that culminated in a victory in Super Bowl 9. All three started at some point in the season.

Re: Opinion question...what was the worst pass in NFL histor
Russell Wilson's interception at the end of Super Bowl 49. Maybe the play was the worst play call rather than pass. Either way the result was the same.

Re: Current NFL media in a microcosm: Justin Fields
The NFL is all about money. If it can profit from the "greatest ever" happening every week, all the better. The League has mostly forsaken its pre-Super Bowl years. I've believed for some time America has become a history-averse culture. To most people "greatest" must be of recen...

Re: STEELERS/EAGLES History
Had Steelers lost that '68 affair, and all still plays out the same, they get OJ! But however much winning they do - and even if they muster a Lombardi or multiple ones - sure enough the '70s for the 'Burgh would have had quite a different identity! And not a better one either (even with success). ...
