Update: Lady Gaga will join them this year when she performs the Halftime Show at the Super Bowl. She performed the National Anthem at Super Bowl 50.

With today's Washington-Cincinnati tie, there have been two ties so far this season. That makes 2016 only the third season since the advent of OT in 1974 that have seen two ties in the same season, the others being 1986 and 1997. There has not been a season since 1974 with three tied games. The 1970 San Diego Chargers played in three games that wound up as ties.

The Cincinnati Bengals have tied 3 games since 2008, and have participated in 3 of the last 6 NFL tie games.

The 1974 Steelers didn't beat a team with a winning record during the regular season.

Interesting.
There were only three other teams in the AFC that season with a winning record: Miami, Buffalo and Oakland.
The Steelers lost to Oakland and didn't play the other two in the regular season.

There were 5 (of 13) teams in the NFC with winning records.
The Steelers played none of them, instead drawing the Falcons, Eagles and Saints.

Of course, the Steelers did beat the Vikings, Raiders and Bills en route to their first Super Bowl Championship.

Cloyce Box was an end for the Detroit Lions during the early 1950's. After his playing career was over, he got involved in the oil industry in Texas and got very wealthy as a result. He had a big piece of land with a big home on it known a the Cloyce Box house.

In the TV show Dallas, the main family was the Ewing family with J.R. Ewing as it's main character (and villain). They lived in a huge house called Southfork. The house used for Southfork was the Cloyce Box house.

Sunday's 49ers at Redskins game was the 276th one in major pro football history that did not have at least one touchdown scored in it.

The Jets have still never beaten the Eagles and won't get another chance at it until 2023 (unless some improbable SB happens)

Weird question but I wondered the other day if there were any games where there were more safeties scored in it than field goals? And 0 td's of course

I don't think there was ever a 2-2 game that went into OT that was decided by a FG. How odd would it be to have a 3-2 game late...bad snap on a punt out of the endzone that ends 4-3.

Or a 7-0 shutout where one team had 1 fg and 2 safeties
