1) In the 1960s, neither the AFL nor the NFL hired a HC from college with zero pro experience (as an assistant or HC). By 1972, four NFL HCs had come straight from college without any pro experience. Name the four HCs.

2) What did the acronym CEPO stand for?

Tommy Prothro, Bill Peterson, John Ralston, Dan Devine.

Prothro with the Rams was the first, big news at the time, Chuck Fairbanks at New England and Don Coryell with the Cardinals came in 1973. The Patriots made a big money offer to Joe Paterno, who considered it, but stayed at Penn State.

Dan Jenkins once wrote in Sports Illustrated that John McKay had turned down the Rams numerous times. He took the Tampa Bay offer in 1976.
