Re: Roethlisberger for the HOF?
Postseason/championship success has to be one of, if not a deciding factor in player's case for the HOF and Rivers just didnt do enough in my view. He could get in as a passer but playing in this inflated era, it doesnt mean as much as when Fouts or Jurgensen were throwing the ball ...

Re: Quarterback "Storylines"
Despite not beating the Browns, I still feel the 49ers were a quality team despite having a bad 1950 season and Buck Shaw, like the Browns players who excelled in the AAFC, deserves HOF if not HOVG recognition.

Re: Quarterback "Storylines"
I had forgotten about the LA Dons of the AAFC ...
They were as popular as the Rams but ole Dan Reeves wasnt about to let them enter the NFL, which was a mistake.
The Colts were allowed as canon fodder in 1950 despite a loyal fanbase. Weeb Ewbank developed them quite nicely.

Helmet-to-helmet hit or not ...
Sorensen made a great hustle play. Since it was a scoring play, why not be a challenge or reviewable ?

Re: Quarterback "Storylines"
There is no doubt about Graham's greatness but other than Buck Shaw's San Francisco team pushing the Browns in their own western division of the AAFC, there really were no other teams that could compete with Cleveland. It was kind of like the Philadelphia Stars in the USFL, though the Michigan Panth...

Re: Quarterback "Storylines"
Another cool storyline was Bill Nelson with the Browns. Though he never won a championship with terrible losses to the Colts and Vikings in 68/69 and losing in John Unitas's last postseason game in 1971, he was tough as nails with bad knees on a bad Steelers team before rejuvenating his career in Cl...

Re: Quarterback "Storylines"
Rote definitely has the two championships but was also up and down with teams, though he should have stayed with Detroit. Kapp was a winner too, winning championships in Canada and the last NFL Championship before losing the SB to the AFL champion. Why the Vikings let him go is beyond me. If Brady t...

Quarterback "Storylines"
Teams win championships, not just their quarterbacks. However with the final four of NFL pro football playing for a SB championship, some very interesting storylines. Other than perhaps Vegas of course, who else could have written a better script than Tom Brady joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and t...
