Latest lead taken and blown
Thinking about that 2021 AFC Divisional Playoff got me thinking... what is the latest a team has taken a lead and went on to lose the game? For example, a team down 21-17 scores a touchdown with :15 left, taking a 24-21 lead, only to allow a field goal in the final 15 seconds, and lose in overtime.

Not yet, though I predict 10 years from now he will be the best "any number" ever. The only things that will separate him from Brady's records are catastrophic injuries, or boredom from winning too much.

Re: Games with deceptive final scores
Just going with Super Bowls here (XXVI was a great example already given): Super Bowl XXXI: Green Bay dominated the last three quarters of that game, but only won by 14. They missed a field goal that would have covered the spread, and they ended the game in field goal range. Watching the game again ...

Re: Most boring NFL season?
1989 or 1991. In 1989, the 49ers were so much better than everyone else that the playoffs proved to be little more than a formality, not to mention the entire AFC being a joke. In 1991, many of the playoff games were blowouts, and there was never really any question that Washington would win it all....

Re: Teams that almost collapsed but didn’t
With the Cowboys starting their 2011 season with a 7-4 record, the Giants had to find a way to stay with them or miss the playoffs. Manning steps to the plate and beats them twice, the second time to win the division at 9-7 before the Giants sweep the table. Had the Cowboys won that final game, Aar...

Re: AFC teams that just missed the playoffs in 1989
They should have just cancelled the AFC tournament and awarded the Super Bowl to the NFC champion automatically. When the second wild card in the NFC would get the #1 seed in the AFC, then a bloodbath in the Super Bowl was just waiting to happen. The eighth-best team in the NFC would be top-three in...

Overtime Thoughts/Strategy
What are your opinions on overtime and its current format? How would you change it? I'd like it to go back to sudden death. If the "Greatest Game Ever Played" had it, then it should still be the standard. But as these new current playoff overtime rules are set up, I have an unorthodox stra...

Re: Pre-’94 NFL games you wish had the 2-pt-conv in-effect
1983 Cowboys-Redskins Week 1. Washington trailed 31-23 and scored a last-second touchdown which turned out to be meaningless. Mark Moseley, 1982 MVP, earlier missed and it came back to haunt the 'Skins. Of course, that game is better known as the game Howard Cosell said something bad.

Re: 2023 PFRA convention roll call
I will be there! I live just outside of Pittsburgh, so this one's right in my backyard. My dad is coming with me (he's just a fan, not a researcher). I'll be at all the events, as long as nothing goes wrong. Really looking forward to this! (And since I won't be staying in a hotel, hopefully I won't ...
