Re: Greatest passing day in Pro Football history?
A friend and I have a similar discussion every now and then, usually at the beginning of each season... "How many sure future Hall Of Famers are playing in the NFL right now?" We lost one recently when Champ Bailey announced his retirement. Here's my current list off the top of my head. To...

Re: home dominance
The Dolphins beat the Bills every game of the 70s. The Bills finally won one against them in 1980 but I believe Miami extended their home streak over Buffalo well into the 80s.

Re: The year they started calling it "The NFL", 1947?
Really?? I never knew this! I always just assumed it was referred to by the initials all along. Ya learn something new every day. :) That being said, during the first two years ('20-'21) did they go out of their way to say "American Professional Football Association"? That would have been ...

Re: Have we hit rock bottom with NFL uniforms?
One thing I never understood though was the Rams going to that very empty and simplistic blue and white look in LA. Were they trying to be more in step with the Dodgers? I think I heard once that was a money saving move. Once games started being broadcast on tv on a regular basis, the yellow rams h...

Re: ARCHIVE SB MVP's that could/should have been Started by
Do you mean Dwight Smith got screwed? Smith had two INT returns for TD's; the second took place in the final seconds, so it is very likely the vote had taken place by then. yep! My bad. oops! I definitely remember at the time that Smith should have been MVP. I had Rice on my mind because someone me...

Re: ARCHIVE SB MVP's that could/should have been Started by
MVPs that should have been... and these are games that I remember thinking immediately after the game that these guys should have won it. XXV: Thurman Thomas XXXV: Kyle Richardson (yes you read that right) XXXVII: Simeon Rice (I think he got screwed because I believe they had the voting BEFORE his 2...

Re: NFL's Greatest Games of the 21st century....
I would hope the 49ers comeback against the Giants in 2002 would make the list. (me being a 49ers fan since the Montana era) :) http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200301050sfo.htm Interesting personal story about this game. Back then, my girlfriend (now wife) would always make a point o...

Re: Have we hit rock bottom with NFL uniforms?
The orange crush Broncos uniforms that were replaced in the late 90s with the hideous ones they wear today were classic. One of my favorites when I was a kid.
