Weeb Ewbank film collection

About a year ago without much publicity the Pro Football Hall of Fame uploaded 61 videos from their Weeb Ewbank game film collection. https://livestream.com/profootballhof/events/8048086 It's an awesome collection of raw football footage that includes the game film from Super Bowl 3. The Jim Trimble...

Re: Alliance of American Football more TV deals including NF

I was looking for those items this morning and stumbled upon them at this site:
https://noextrapoints.com/boxscores/week-1-sa-sd/

Evidently, however, those are unofficial statistics so that site might not be what you were looking for.

Re: Oakland Senors

Someone in the press pointed out that most linotype operators in 1960 didn't have an "ñ " to spell "Señors", and that readers would wonder what a "Senor" was. The name was introduced on April 6 and changed on April 15 of 1960. A bit of trivia is "What other new te...

Re: Where would you rank Belichick amongst all time great co

When ranking the all-time head coaches I wouldn't factor in their coaching trees. If anything a better coaching tree could be indicative of a head coach that found success partly because of his assistant coaches (i.e. Jim Fassel, Mike Ditka, and Jim Lee Howell come to mind). I don't think that's the...

Re: Oakland Senors

Senors was actually the Raiders' official nickname for about a week before public outcry caused them to drop the name. More details along with some of the other nickname suggestions can be found in the link below. https://web.archive.org/web/20180927064752/http://www.footballgeography.com/the-autumn...

Re: Notable Cowboys/Rams games

Thse two teams played regularly during the preseason in the Cowboys' first two decades because Dallas trained (for the most part) in Thousand Oaks. Along those same lines. In 1960, the Cowboys and Rams played a preseason game in Pendleton, Oregon, at a rodeo stadium named the Round-Up. The game's a...

Re: Silly Rules

I believe at one point early in the game's history (pre-NFL) the conversion was actually worth more points then the actual touchdown. The point in scoring the touchdown was because it gave a team a chance to try for the conversion. You're right about the XP being worth more than a TD, but it was fo...

Re: Manning Brady

It's funny to not even see Brett Favre's name mentioned at least once in this thread. I wouldn't put him on the all-NFL team, but I feel like he was at least a top-ten all-time QB.
