Many people at that time felt the Niners would be in the SB but after Dallas whipped the Eagles in the divisional, their confidence sky-rocketed and Aikman kept his poise the rest of the postseason. The 49ers just made too many mistakes in that Championship game. Young had finally replaced Montana in 1991 and the pressure to win it all was growing as well. Cowboys' fans at that time could not believe how focused Jimmy Johnson would get the team to become because he could make losing a game a miserable experience afterward ... They were so young, they didnt know any better ...

They had a weird game at Seattle where they outgained the Seahawks 3 to 1, yet got sacked 10+ times and nearly tied

Quick comment on 2024 Eagles ... Lurie has a way of souring things in Philly, despite Roseman, and now Sirianni is feeling the heat that champion HC Peterson went through. Losing Kelce, Cox, Swift, Maddox and especially Reddick--a one man wrecking crew in the rabid fan orgy victory over SF in the NFC Championship--will hurt, though the real HC this year might be the head of Eagles security, who will have to help keep Sirianni calm and poised as the team tries to regroup ...
